A MESSAGE FROM YOUR PRESIDENT

Hi Everyone, Well I think spring has finally made it. I was beginning to wonder if we would have a Spring or not. The daffodils, tulips, crocuses, hiaasen's and even my magnolia tree are finally blooming. It is just beautiful outside. Now if I could just get all the leaves off he bround it would look like summer might have a chance. It is so nice to see green and colors again. I hope all of you were able to get to the Gathering and the Intenational Quilt Spring Festibal in Rosemont. They both were very inspirational. I think the Show in Rosemont had just about anything you needed for quilting. Every year I think there is just nothing else I could use, but like always, I still find things I just can't live without. I hope everyone had a chance to sign up for the Crafty Ol' Broads Workshop.
Can't wait to see what the Program Committee has in store for us with the Paint Can Challenge.
There is also the Yo Yo Basket workshop and our Midnight Madness coming up in May.
Hope all of you have a great Spring & Summer. Enjoy the summer sessions and we'll all get rejuvenated for the fall and a new guild year.
HAPPY QUILTING.

KIDS QUILTS

Thank you to everyone for turning in such wonderful quilts! Your talents and imagination are really outstanding and the quilts are all so beautiful.
So far this year we have 99 quilts and they will make some children very happy. Last years total was 191. Lets hope we can beat the number this year and reach over 200 again.
We had a great time at the all day sew for Kids Quilts after the last meeting. There were about 8 ladies who brought their machines and we got quite a bit accomplished.
Come join us the next time for lots of fun and fellwoship while we work on Kids Quilts!
If you are interested in making a Kids Quilt, we have kits put together for you to sew. We also have fabric, batting and backing. Just let me know what you need.
All you need to do is donate your time in sewing a quilt and get as creative as you would like.
When you have a quilt complete, could you please put your name on a piece of paper and pin it to the quilt. I would appreciate that very much.
THANK YOU LADIES FOR YOUR DEDICATION TO SPREADING COMFORT TO THOSE IN NEED.
Ulrike Z.

FONS & PORTER
The Fons & Porter magazine subscription offer is still available for new subscriptions and renewals.
This is a great way for guilds to make extra money for special projects.

COFFEE / REFRESHMENTS

There will be a sign-up sheet available at meetings, or contact Jean P. Please consider signing up to prepare coffee.
If you wish to bring refreshments please do so. Don't forget to clean everything up and put everything away before you leave, unless you plan on coming back to clean up.
Use a scant cup of coffee grounds for every 20 cups. Set a second pot, water only for tea. Do you have a favorite coffee cup or mug? Bring it along to use at meetings.
We will be saving our environment by not throwing out so many styrofoam cups (considering they aren't recyclable).
